Educational grants to fund a number of projects in Pennsylvania

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the Mount Pleasant Area School District will receive three educational grants to help with educational upgrades, as well as a language lab for one of the schools.

"The equipment for the lab has arrived, and work has started to get everything put together," Mount Pleasant Superintendent Terry Struble told the news source. "Once together, and training for the teachers has been provided, we hope to have it out this spring in the classrooms."

Partial funding for the lab will come from the Scottdale Bank and Trust as part of its EITC grant program, said the news source.

The other two funding opportunities will come from E-Rate funding, which will bring more than $125,000 in technical upgrades to the district for a reduced rate, and high school librarian Maureen Grace, who used her connections in the legal field to gain access to another grant program, reported the source.

According to Clarksburg, Pennsylvania, NBC affiliate WBOY, more educational grants have been made available in the state, which will funding arts programs in Harrison County.

The news said the grants coming from the Clarksburg-Harrison Cultural Foundation will total $19,000.
