Classroom resources grants will give teachers a new way to reach their students
The Turning Foundation, Samsung Mobile, BrainPOP and Turning Technologies recently announced the creation of the Winter 2012 Classroom Improvement Technology grant, which will be used to arm schools with classroom resources that will contribute to improvement in the classroom.
"With the help of Samsung Mobile and BrainPOP, the winter 2012 CIT grant will provide an ideal classroom solution for teachers to engage students in the learning process and positively impact learning outcomes," said John Wilson, director of the Turning Foundation. "The Turning Foundation appreciates the contributions and involvement of Samsung Mobile, BrainPOP and Turning Technologies."
Educators that will receive this grant will be fitted with 21st century classrooms consisting of technologies from the contributors to the grant program.
Samsung will award all 10 grant winners with one of its Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices, which is a mobile tablet teachers can use to improve efficiency in the classroom.
According to Mashable, tablets are ready to enter the realm of the classroom due to their ability to show textbooks in a new way. With the touch of a finger, students will have the opportunity to explore subject matter like never before.
